LOL fansubs are gold :D And as good as seasonal anime is, i think Netflix's model of launching all the episodes at once is a much better deal, but unfortunately i don't think that's ever going to happen for anime :( Alas, anime is still considered "cartoons for kids" by most people i know from work, even the ones younger than me. As much as i hate to say it, if you live in a non-English-speaking country and you never bother to actually learn the language, odds are you won't even have the option to watch anime. I could never recommend any anime to these people because they don't speak anything but Romanian, they couldn't tell Chinese and Japanese languages apart if they heard someone talking and, in the end, they still think of it as cartoons for kids...

I'm overdosing on nostalgia from all these yearly reviews despite not actually watching most of these animes. it leaves a hole that can't be filled. it doesn't even give me the interest or motivation to watch these animes. I absolutely hate this feeling, yet I enjoy it in the moment. but the after effect makes me feel so, empty.

When I was at middle school I was a huge anime fans, so did my close friends (and boyfriend). No one ever picked me just because I'm a huge weebs and I'm not shy to show it to the world. But things change when I got to high school. Me and all of my friends went to different schools. I'm in no way a shy person and I went to my first day with confidence and positive attitude. I found a girl who also love anime and we instantly became friends. But things change when people found out that we were a huge anime nerd. At first I didn't really care that people make fun of me but at one point I just had enough so I stop watching animes alltogether and never speak about it again. Years passed by and no one knew I was a weebs and I always HATED it when people found out and try to talk to me about it, even if it's not in a degrading way. Until last year when I went to college I found out my closest friend is a weebs and the way she talks about anime sparks my old weebs soul. I start rewatching some of my favorite old animes and now I'm on deep dive into good animes I missed during my drawbacks around 2016-2020. The worst part is, anime is now considered cool in my country and everyone watch it. I feel like I wanna hug my high school me and said "Just hang on, you'll be cool in 4 years."

I guess what really hit me the hardest is... It's been 10 whole years. And just like growing up itself, we've grown past that awkward teenage years of self enclosed bubble of existing... Anime in of itself has too grown beyond that. So much so, it feels like it's an old classmate of ours that we still catch up on every day... but we both witnessed the growth of each other along the way. It's that kind of a feeling.
